Background
SEEMail has been protecting the New Zealand Government email for over 20 years.
Based on the S/MIME secure email protocol, SEEMail has had:
- No identified data breaches or email compromises
- It has been effective in keeping government email secure and safe
SEEMail (using the S/MIME protocol) is still a fit-for-purpose method for ensuring government-wide email protection. Centrally managing behaviour and notifications ensures that everyone complies with the requirements of the NZISM.
Liverton Security supports the Secure Government Email Framework (SGEF).
These additional protocols provide further enhancements to securing government email. SGEF includes SFP, DKIM, DMARC and MTA-STS protocols.
However, without SEEMail, it does not guarantee protection for the following:
Non-repudiation
- Identifying, without any doubt, who sent an email
- Missing or incorrect SGEF settings may go undetected (Microsoft dynamically update SPF bypass rules).
Data Loss Prevention
- Preventing emails (especially emails with classification tags) from going to the wrong recipient
- Would require complex and inconsistent localised DLP rules for each agency
Central Membership
- Knowing if a recipient is authorised to receive classified emails
Introducing SEEMail Plus
The next step to evolving your email security solution.
SEEMail Plus is our established SEEMail Gateway with the addition of the SGEF settings. Ensuring that agencies meet NZISM requirements.
Our existing SEEMail users can expect:
